The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) (هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي) is a public service infrastructure company that was founded on 1 January 1992 by Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The objective of the state-run company is making available to the people of Dubai an adequate and reliable supply of electricity and water.

As a significant part of the Government of Dubai, their main core objectives include:

  • Establishing, managing, operating, and maintaining electricity generation and water desalination plants and power, as well as water transmission and distribution networks in Dubai.
  • Developing and maintaining water resources and supplying drinking
  • Supporting the vision of the Government of Dubai to promote sustainable development by driving energy and water use efficiency and investing in alternative energy sources.
The Malcolm Baldrige Quality Framework, which highlights customer satisfaction, workforce empowerment, and increased productivity, has now come to symbolize the commitment to excellence globally.
